A group of Malaysian GDT students decided to help local coffee farmers with branding and re-inventing their product offerings and marketing.
GDT Lecturer in UTAR, Malaysia lead the students group to sell soy sauce as an entrepreneurship project since 2019, even as a part-time. Two engineering students are able to gain the business around 20,000 USD yearly.
GDT and the local partner set up the “Mexico Digital Village”. A group of the young students helped the artisans to take pictures for “molcajete”, a product made of volcanic. They opened online stores and used smart payments. The products have been sold to Indonesia, South Africa, and Europe. Each is 70 USD at least, even some can be sold at 200 USD.
The GDT student, Martin Wu, after a few months GDT learning experience, joined the new established company to help Chinese manufacturers to do digitalization. With the learning experience of GDT digital economy, he got to know the mindset of digital economy, the practical skills of starting the entrepreneurship. With the opportunity to get in touch with Chinese manufacturers and join a new company, he cooperates with Chinese duvets manufacturer to set up DTC brand and to sell duvets to the US market.
